Annual Allocations Funding
Best for established programs and services that provide direct support to individuals and families in West Ellis County.
- Annual funding cycle
- Available to eligible 501(c)(3) organizations
- Can support program expenses and/or organizational operations
- Must demonstrate a community need and measurable outcomes
- Funding supports the January–December 2027 fiscal year, paid in quarterly installments
- Includes an Allocations Hearing with UWWEC
Community Impact Funding
Best for specific projects or emerging needs that fall outside of regular operating or annual program funding.
- Applications accepted year-round
- Does not require 501(c)(3) status
- Intended for a specific program, project, or community need
- Not intended for general operating expenses, salaries, or staff compensation
- Funding is paid in one installment
- Applications are reviewed and voted on by the UWWEC Board of Directors

Organizations and Grants We Consider
Tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organizations providing services in health, human services, or education are eligible to apply. Grants may support an organization’s operations and/or active programs that provide direct services to individuals and families in need during the 2027 fiscal year (January 1, 2027–December 31, 2027) within the United Way of West Ellis County service area.
Applicants should clearly identify a community need, explain how their organization or program addresses that need, and share how they measure and track their impact. When reviewing applications, United Way of West Ellis County looks at measurable outcomes and the difference a program makes, not just the number of activities or services provided.
Priority will be given to programs that address significant community needs and reach individuals and families who need support most. Applicants should demonstrate who they serve, the need they are addressing, how their program helps, and the results they are seeing in the community.
Organizations that have not previously received funding from United Way of West Ellis County are encouraged to apply. Previous funding does not guarantee future funding.
We will NOT consider grants for:
- Capital projects
- Endowments
- Organizations that espouse political or religious advocacy as part of their services
Application Process
UWWEC utilizes a grant platform called e-CImpact. If you received Annual Allocations funding in 2026, you already have an account. If you are new to UWWEC, you will be prompted to create an account.
You will be able to save your progress as you work; however, once the application is submitted, you will be unable to change/edit your responses. After the application window has closed, your agency will be prompted to schedule a time for your Allocations Hearing on November 6.
Allocations Hearings
Each applicant should plan to be available to answer questions from our allocations panel. A representative at a leadership level within your organization should be available for a brief 10–15 minute interview with the United Way of West Ellis County Board of Directors and Staff on November 6, 2026, at Navarro College in Midlothian.
Grant Agreement
We view this relationship as a partnership and look forward to working with you. If selected to receive funding, you will be required to sign documentation to accept a grant.

Community Impact Funding Application
Key Dates at a Glance
Community Impact Funding (CIF) is open year-round, and does not follow a set funding cycle timeline.
Applications will be voted on by the UWWEC Board of Directors. Applicants may not be present during the vote.
Organizations and Grants We Consider
While being classified 501(c)(3) organization is not a requirement of CIF funding, the organization should be able to show a demonstrated need for the program or project that funds are being requested for. CIF is not intended to support basic operational expenses, salaries, or other staff compensation of applying organizations.
Application Process
After applying, your organization may be asked to present to the UWWEC Board of Directors. The Board will vote on the application, and the applicant will not be present during the vote. The Executive Director will notify the agency of the Board's decision.
